Remind me when I walk by the grocery: buy 2 bottles of milk
Kall Reminders is a free kosher reminders app. Set a reminder for a time (daily, weekly or on chosen days) that waits until after havdalah on Shabbos and Yom Tov, or for a place: “buy 2 bottles of milk” when you walk by the grocery. It is part of Kall in 1, kosher apps all in one place.
Two kinds of reminders
| At a time | At a place |
|---|---|
| Pick a date and time. Once, every day, every week, or the days you choose (for example Sunday to Thursday). | Pick a grocery, shul or store from Kall Local, search any address, or use the spot you are standing on. |
| Arrives as a notification, even when the page is closed. | Choose how close: 100 m, 250 m or 500 m. Once, or every time you are near. |
Shabbos and Yom Tov aware
Every time reminder knows the Jewish calendar for your area. If it would ring between candle lighting and havdalah on Shabbos or Yom Tov, it waits and comes right after havdalah instead. A reminder for Friday night at 8:00 PM in Lakewood comes on Motzei Shabbos after havdalah. Two days of Yom Tov next to Shabbos are handled as one stretch. Chol Hamoed is a normal day.
How to set your first reminder
- Open reminders.kallin1.com and tap New reminder.
- Type what to remember, like “Buy 2 bottles of milk”.
- Choose At a time and pick when, or At a place and pick the store.
- Tap Turn on when asked about notifications, so reminders can reach you.
- On iPhone: tap Share, then Add to Home Screen, and open Kall Reminders from your Home Screen to get notifications.
Walk-by alerts: web today, phone app next
On the web, Kall Reminders checks where you are while the app is open and alerts you when you come near a place you picked. Browsers do not let websites follow your location in the background, so alerts with the phone in your pocket need the Kall phone app. It is coming soon, and it will pick up the places you already saved.
Questions
Does it work on Shabbos?
No. Time reminders that would ring between candle lighting and havdalah are moved to right after havdalah, and place alerts are quiet on Shabbos and Yom Tov. Chol Hamoed is a normal day.
Will it remind me with the phone in my pocket?
Time reminders, yes: they arrive as notifications even when the page is closed. Walk-by place alerts on the web work while Kall Reminders is open. Alerts with the phone in your pocket come with the Kall phone app.
Do I need an account?
No. Your reminders are saved for your device. Sign in with your Kall account to keep them on all your devices and to pick places from Kall Local.
Who sees my location?
Your position is checked on your own phone to see if you are near a place. Kall stores the places you pick and the reminder text, not a history of where you walked.
